Robbie Williams admits he faked his MTV Cribs episode to look wealthier by using Jane Seymour’s castle home
ROBBIE Williams admits he faked his appearance on celebrity property show MTV Cribs to make himself look wealthier – by using actress Jane Seymour’s castle home instead.
The singer was just 23 when he was on the show for the first time, and appeared to welcome the cameras through his lavish doors.
But while he claimed to own the grand home, in posh St Catherine’s Court, Bath, he had actually only rented it from the actress.
And in a recent interview he told how he managed to keep Jane in the dark about the whole episode. Robbie said: “We didn’t let her know that I was going to pretend it was my house.
“And because I was like 23 and full of spunk, I didn’t even consider other people’s thoughts or feelings, so I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to Jane Seymour.”
Laughing, he added: “There are so many castles in England.” Speaking on US radio, Robbie told how he also hired butlers to serve him during the filming.
But he added that his second appearance on MTV Cribs was shot inside his real home.
And nowadays he and wife Ayda Field would even have a choice of gaffs if they went on the show, including their £17.5million mansion in Holland Park, London.
It is famously next door to Robbie’s nemesis, Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.
Then there is a stunning house in Los Angeles with its own pool.
The couple also have a £15.9million Malibu mansion that belonged to Janet Jackson.
So if I’m ever asked to appear on Cribs, I’ll know who to call.

Rita's star attraction
RITA Ora pleased her fans by releasing new music earlier this month – and proves she’s still Hot Right Now by dazzling in this sparkly set of starry undies.
The stunning hitmaker, who put out new single How to Be Lonely on March 13, poses up a storm in the sexy outfit.
The song was written by Lewis Capaldi and in it she sings about battling self-worth.
Shots from her latest video, pictured, show Rita being hit by an arrow, embraced by a giant bear and seducing a skeleton. As you do.
As long as she looks like this, Rita could turn up on dates with a bear, a skeleton and an arrow wound and wouldn’t be lonely.
Amy in Strictly plea
LOVE Islander Amy Hart begged Strictly bosses to pick her for the show when she saw them at an awards do.
Amy, who is still having therapy after her split from Curtis Pritchard, made an impassioned plea at the National Television Awards.
A source said: “She told them how it would mean everything to her. It was very heartfelt but also a little embarrassing.”
It seems Amy is hoping to dance her troubles away.
Olly's morning briefing
OLLY Murs isn’t usually the shy and retiring type.
So it was no surprise at all to see a video of him swinging from a ceiling beam – while wearing tiny white pants – drop into my inbox.
The hitmaker, who has taken to playing pranks on girlfriend Amelia Tank during lockdown, decided to treat her to a wake up with a difference on Saturday. And as she slept under the covers, he turned on tune Get Up
Everybody and began prancing around the pair’s bedroom in just his underwear.
Posting the video on Instagram, Olly wrote underneath: “Think I’ll be dumped by the end of self-isolation.”
I’d say it all depends on what time this was filmed at.
Dav pad
DAVINA McCall is building a new family home after splashing out £1million for a plot of land.
The presenter wants a fresh start following her split from husband Matthew Robertson.
She hopes the house in Kent, which will have seven bedrooms and a cinema room, will help her move on.
In a new magazine interview, Davina said: “I’m building a house! My kids and I have been renting and we were trying to find a plot of land.
“So we’re doing it together. This year is going to be super stressful, but really fun.
“It’s the next phase of our lives – a house that we’ve built and everyone gets to choose how they want their bedrooms.
“It was tough for the kids when we sold our house, so it’s nice to say, ‘fresh house, fresh start’.”
£1m bids for Geri
SPICE Girls singer Geri Horner is at the centre of a £1million bidding war with book publishers.
They want to snap her up to write a new series of children’s stories for them.
Geri, whose first kids’ novel Ugenia Lavender sold 250,000 copies in just five months in 2008, went on to further success with another five Ugenia books that followed.
After revealing an interest in writing a new series, she has had bids from rival publishers escalate higher and higher.
But sources now say Ginger Spice is about to close a deal with one of the publishing houses this month – and her first new book is expected to be published before Christmas.
And while one of the companies has made a generous offer, she is said to be tempted to stick with her former publisher.
One source told me: “Geri’s Ugenia series was a huge hit with young readers.
“So it’s no surprise she has found herself at the centre of a bidding war.
“Her team are hoping she’ll sign on the dotted line at some point this week.”
Toff for a stroll
EARPHONES, check. Cap, check. Tiny pet dog in the pushchair, check.
I’m A Celebrity winner Georgia Toffolo went to unusual lengths to protect her new pooch as she took a walk around the empty streets of London last week.
While the reality star shunned face masks and gloves, her cute dog Monty was sitting safely inside a specially designed pet stroller.
Apparently, that is a thing. Surely the Made In Chelsea favourite could have just kept him in an oversized handbag like everyone else . . .
Ana's Cruz cues
NEW Bond girl Ana De Armas has claimed she left her native Cuba years ago with just “the balls to chase my dream and a Spanish passport”.

The stunning actress, who found movie fame first in Spain and then Hollywood, says when she first began learning English, her inspiration was Penelope Cruz.
Ana, who is now dating Ben Affleck, said: “I could tell how hard it was for Penelope at the beginning to act in English, because it was a different part of your brain.
“I always thought, ‘I have to get good at that.’”
