Lucy Mecklenburgh reveals she’s given birth to baby boy called Roman
LUCY Mecklenburgh has given birth to a baby boy called Roman.
The former reality star announced the happy news on Instagram tonight.
She shared a picture of her adorable baby's hand and simply wrote: "Roman Ravello Thomas 💙."
Her followers rushed to congratulate the new mum and fiancé Ryan Thomas.
Lucy recently opened up about how "mentally and physically tough" her pregnancy had been as she tried every trick in the book to get her little boy out.
Cradling her belly in a ribbed olive dress, the 28-year-old shared how she felt sick and fatigued in her first trimester, but then didn't expect to feel so fed up towards the end.
"I can honestly say 38-40weeks has been a lot tougher mentally & physically! It’s this weird limbo stage," she wrote on Instagram.
Lucy then revealed she'd "worked through the list" of tricks to induce labour including eating different food from curries to pineapples, sage oil bats to a birthing ball.
The model even hit the gym to try and get things moving.
She eventually decided to "relax and let nature take its course as it’s so disheartening when nothing happens".
Instead, Lucy got stuck into organising her hospital bag to take her mind of waiting for her son to arrive.
The star posted a photo of herself labelling zip lock bags alongside baby clothes, nappies, maternity pads and pyjamas.
"Usually, I'm a really last minute slightly unorganised person but I wanted to get this part right," Lucy wrote on Instagram.
She added: "This pregnancy has been a whole mix of emotions for me - excitement, fear and everything in between!"
Lucy has been engaged to former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas since June 2019.
The pair have been together since 2017 after competing on Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls.
While it is Lucy's first baby, Ryan has a daughter with former partner and Corrie co-star Tina O'Brien.".
The Towie beauty admitted she burnt herself out during her pregnancy thinking she was "invincible
"Work, social engagements and nesting overload at home! I don’t really sit still 🤦🏽♀️ But listen to your body and rest as and when u can!" she advised other mums to be on Instagram.
After suffering from an "awful cold" in the 37th week of her pregnancy, doctors prescribed the model blood pressure tablets and ordered her top up her iron intake.
"Advice to stubborn mothers to be (like me!) .. please rest as much as possible at the end," she wrote.
She also slowed down her work commitments after falling pregnant including stepping away from her clothing business after it suffered losses.
The Sun revealed resigned as director of Lucy’s Boutique in January, two months after it posted debts of almost £270,000.
The fitness star set it up in 2012 but has failed to make any cash in the last few years — and there was only £673 in the company’s bank account in October.
Lucy now appears to be focusing on her wellness website, called Results With Lucy, instead.
