Fast and Furious 9 release delayed by one year due to coronavirus

FAST and Furious 9's release has been delayed by one year due to the coronavirus.
The sequel of the popular car franchise was set to be released in the United States and UK on May 22, 2020.
But due to fears on how the virus will affect sales, the film has been pushed back a month.
The official Fast and Furious 9 account said on Twitter: "We feel all the love and the anticipation you have for the next chapter in our saga.
"That's why it's especially tough to let you know that we have to move the release date of the film.
"It's become clear that it own't be possible for all of our fans around the world to see the film this May."
He added: "While we know there is disappointment in having to wait a little while longer, this move is made with the safety of everyone as our foremost consideration.
"Moving will allow our global family to experience our new chapter together. We'll see you next spring."
There are currently 127,860 cases of coronavirus globally.
So far, 4,715 people died from the virus, while 68,300 have recovered.
The Fast and Furious films are an American action series focused on street racing, heists and spies.
Fast and Furious 9 - officially title F9 - is to be the second part in the "last trilogy to end the saga".
The final film, Fast and Furious 10, could also be split into two parts.
Speaking to , Vin Diesel - who plays series protagonist Dom Toretto - said: "I started planning for Fast 10 before we started filming Fast 9. Very much so.

"The universe is so robust and so rich with talent and rich with that, on one level, it's totally feasible to have spinoffs, and I think that's something that is inevitable.
"Universal deserves it because of how much they've invested in this little saga, and it's be good to give back to Universal.
"And for the fans, should Fast 10 parts one and two be the conclusion, it would be nice for this world to continue for generations to come."
As well as the main franchise films, they have released one spin-off film: Hobbs and Shaw.
