Fiona Phillips’ dig at ex-GMTV co-star Kate Garraway as she turns down I’m A Celebrity to keep her ‘dignity’

FIONA Phillips has taken a swipe at former colleague Kate Garraway by saying she'd never go on I'm A Celebrity because "dignity is an important thing".

The mum-of-two's clear dig follows Kate's stint in the jungle last year where she finished in the top four.

Fiona, 59, who worked with Kate on GMTV in the noughties, told the  "I’m asked to do I’m A Celebrity every year.

"All those things come round.

"But I don’t want to do that stuff. I would never do it.

"I think dignity is an important thing."

Meanwhile, Kate recently landed a brand new weekend TV show off the back of her I'm A Celeb success alongside jungle pal Myles Stephenson.

The 52-year-old will be hosting Breakfast at Garraway’s on Saturdays as part of a new breakfast shake-up on ITV.

It’s not the first time Fiona and Kate have taken aim at each other publicly.

After Fiona claimed Kate was probably “pleased” to see her leave GMTV in 2008, Garraway reportedly told a friend: "Fiona has really knifed me."

Fiona also said at the time that Kate would “turn up to the opening of an envelope”.

The pair shared the task of hosting GMTV in the noughties with Fiona at the helm three days a week and Kate co-hosting with Andrew Castle on Thursdays and Fridays.

It was always thought the pair had a thorny relationship, with Kate playing bridesmaid to Fiona as the main presenter of the show.
