Sex Education writer takes over Killing Eve season 4 in BBC shake-up – with plans to ‘take no prisoners’
SEX Education's writer has taken over Killing Eve season 4 in a BBC shake-up - with plans to "take no prisoners".
Laura Neal is replacing Suzanne Heathcote, who wrote the upcoming third season of the hit drama.
The show - which stars Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh - has had a different female writer each season, with Emmy and Golden Globe winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge kicking things off in series one.
She was followed by Emerald Fennell for series two, before Suzanne took over for the third season of the BBC and AMC thriller.
Speaking about Laura's appointment, Sarah Barnett, AMC President, said: "Killing Eve smashes television tropes in every way, both on the screen and behind it.
"We have a remarkable squad of ferociously smart women writers passing the baton to each other on this show, aligned around a coherent vision but bringing it to life with their own specific sparkle and brilliance.
"Laura Neal is the latest incredible leader of the pack on Killing Eve."
Executive producer Sally Woodward Gentle added: "Laura is frighteningly bright, takes no prisoners and can laugh at anything.
"She's wicked and wild, emotional and provocative. The stories we are already creating for season four promise a pitch-black riot."
For her part, Suzanne is delighted to pass the mantle to Laura, saying: "After the most incredible year on Killing Eve, I'm so excited the next season is going to be led by such a brilliant talent.

"I cannot wait to see what amazing things Laura's going to do with this world and the characters in it."
The news comes after The Sun exclusively revealed Jodie's Villanelle will be getting married in a new plot — just not to Eve.
A source said: “The wedding is one of the key scenes in the series.
“Last time out, things ended with the tension between Villanelle and Eve at an all-time high, so fans will be hoping that they get together.
“But unfortunately, it seems that Villanelle and her Spanish bride are very loved-up.
“The scenes that Jodie and co have already shot include a big Spanish band and the cutting of a cake, before she spots an enemy among the guests and goes after them.”
