Lewis Capaldi stuns fans as he gives out roses at surprise pop up gig in London after a ‘lonely’ Valentine’s Day
LEWIS Capaldi stunned fans with a surprise performance while handing out 100 roses after a "lonely" Valentines Day.
The 23-year-old came bearing gifts as he performed his biggest hits at the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S20 range yesterday.
The Scot told the crowd at Seven Dials Market in Covent Garden: "Was anyone alone on Valentine’s Day? Me too, well I spent it with you," he then points to keyboard player Aiden Halliday and says, "and we made sweet sweet love..."
He added: “It’s double the heart break for all you lonely losers like myself!”
The concert will play out in a special three-part advertisement, which will be shown during the breaks in ITV’s live coverage of the 40th Annual Brit Awards next Tuesday.
The star, who has been nominated for four Brit awards, excited fans with a 30 minute set topped off by a mass singalong of his hit Someone You Loved.
Capaldi, never failing to crack a joke, said today: “I was very excited to be invited by Samsung to shout at some passers-by during their lunch break, I’m sure no one expected to be feasting their eyes on such a handsome snack (me).”
On Friday, Lewis Capaldi has revealed that his hit song Someone You Loved was inspired by his dead grandmother and not Love Island's Paige Turley.
It came after pals had claimed that the star had been inspired by the reality babe he used to date.
Speaking to an Australian music channel, Lewis said that he'd gone in to the studio not long after his gran's passing.
He said: "The song is not about a lady who I was in a romantic relationship, it's about my grandmother, who's dead, f**k."
