JAMES ‘Ghost’ St Patrick’s murder has been at the centre of Power’s final season.
Next week the sixth instalment of the Starz and Netflix series will come to an end and the identity of the mystery shooter will finally be revealed.
However, it turns out that the actor behind protagonist Ghost, Omari Hardwick, predicted the fate of his on-screen alter ego way back in the first season of the drama.
While scripts for the saga’s ending weren’t even in the pipeline, Hardwick spoke candidly about how he thought Ghost would meet a bitter end on talk show Popcorn with Peter Travers.
He recalled sharing his sense of pessimism with show bosses and proved to be right on every count.
“I brought up in an email to Courtney [Kemp] and to Joseph [Sikora] — I only shared it with those two, I didn’t share it with Curtis [50 Cent],” he began.
“And I said I see this guy taking a bullet at the end. I saw the fate of the show,” he went on.

“I saw him taking a bullet, but it was almost like Denzel [Washington] in Man On Fire, when Denzel had to give a life for a life to save his client. I made that the end.”
Fans will remember that Ghost was shot in his own nightclub Truth, prompting Tommy (Joseph Sikora) to run to his aid.
As Tommy moved to pursue the shooter, Ghost urged him to “let it go,” leading some to wonder if Ghost has a personal connection to the assailant.
As such, the likes of estranged wife Tasha (Naturi Naughton) and son Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr) remain prime suspects among viewers.
In recent weeks, fans have noticed all manner of inconsistencies when it comes to Tasha.
Firstly, they clocked that she seemed to know far more than she initially let on when it came to Ghost’s murder of Terry Silver.
Then comes the fact that she was referred to as Ghost’s ex-wife despite them never divorcing, meaning she had a lot to gain financially from his death.
The furore comes after the ending of Power was leaked online, leaving desperate fans begging for an alternate resolution.
Power season 6 concludes on Starz on Sunday, February 9 and will be available to stream a day later in the UK on Netflix.
