Arg breaks social media silence to announce his comeback after his stint in rehab
JAMES 'Arg' Argent has broken his social media silence to announce his comeback after a stint in rehab.
The Towie star, 32, revealed he will be performing throughout the summer at former co-star Elliot Wright's Marbella restaurant Olivia's La Cala.
This is his first post since checking himself into a Thailand retreat at the start of the year after his two drug "overdoses".
He wrote on Instagram: "After many comments & dm's I can finally reveal I'll be back @olivias_la_cala for my 2020 residency! Jessie J & Tyson Fury amongst others joined me last year.
"There will be more familiar faces joining me this year!"
This was his first post in five weeks as the star took a break from social media.
His last post was a tribute to his best friend Mark Wright, who he called a "brother".
Arg sparked concern amongst friends, family and Gemma Collins after he was rushed to hospital for the second time in two months at the end of last year and has now decided to seek professional help.
A source close to the star told The Sun Online: “Arg has jetted off to Thailand to start the New Year at a specialist facility.
“He has realised he needs help with his recent addiction issues and with his weight loss battle, so has turned to professionals.
The Sun Online understands that Arg stayed at a facility costing around £20,000 a month in a bid to clean up his act - and he won't return until he's healthy and happy again.
They said: “Arg is receiving some of the best care in the world and so is in an environment to finally improve his physical and mental state.
"Nobody knows when he will be back and he hasn't put a time limit on it - he'll be back home when he's fit and well again and he's determined to make that happen."
In December an ambulance was called to the former Towie star’s £1.3 million home after worried pals raised the alarm as he went missing for 48 hours.
They spent three hours with him before persuading him to go to hospital, while his worried mum looked on.
The Sun on Sunday revealed in October how cops broke into Arg’s house amid concerns he suffered an overdose.
His girlfriend, fellow reality star Gemma Collins, dialled 999 after he failed to return friends' calls.
She later dumped him before they reunited and attempted to make things work once again.
Arg previously checked into The Priory in 2014 after being suspended from Towie after being found with traces of cocaine.
He then went into a Thai rehab facility in 2017 for his own mental and physical well-being.
