Inside Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s bizarrely empty $60M LA mansion as she reveals she’s NEVER used the pool
KIM Kardashian and Kanye West have given fans a glimpse inside their lavish $60 million Los Angeles mansion.
The couple sat down to share the inspirations behind their futuristic designs in the new issue of - and Kim revealed she's NEVER been in the home's massive pool that was said to cost $50,000 alone.
The pair - who share the home with their four children - purchased it for $20 million in 2013 before embarking on extravagant renovations which went on for four years.
The family eventually moved into the home in 2017 and fans have constantly been left baffled by what they've seen on the couple's social media ever since.
However , 42, insists the "futuristic Belgian monastery" style home was actually inspired with their children - daughter North, 6, son Saint, 4, daughter Chicago, 2, and eight month-old son Psalm- in mind, despite the extremely minimalist interior.
He explained: "North was the inspiration for the design of our house."
Expanding on how he came up with the landscaping design alongside landscaper Peter Wertz, he added: "The kids, in the backyard there were all these stairs and we needed the kids to be able to ride their skateboards around, so many places as I could take the stairs out I did."
The couple also discussed why they chose to have renovators rip out the two swimming pools which already existed in the garden when they bought the mansion, opting instead for a huge pool which is rumoured to have set them back $50,000.
The topic came up when was asked by her husband when she last used their pool, she replied: "I've never used our pool actually."
She then brought up the fact the home does not have a hot tub, and explained how the couple turned their pool into a huge hot tub instead.
Kim stated: "The kids love to swim in a Jacuzzi. So you said, ‘No the whole pool will be a Jacuzzi, just make it really warm’, like the whole pool all the time.”
Kanye explained that the home was brought to life by minimalist designer Axel Vervoordt, but they also worked with other prominent designers including Claudio Silvestrin — who worked on Kanye’s pre-Kim Manhattan loft and designed the voluminous master bath.
Vincent Van Duysen helped furnish the living room as well as the children’s bedrooms, and Peter Wirtz who oversaw the design of the all-green gardens.
The couple's home boasts a hallway swathed in off-white plaster and a living room with matching off-white seating surrounding a limestone cocktail table.
Their kitchen boasts a spacious island, while Kim nearly broke the internet when she revealed how she doesn't have any basins in her bathroom.
At the time, the mother-of-four explained: "OK, so since everyone is a little bit confused about our sinks, I thought I would show you a little tour of our bathroom.
"So the sink, Kanye drew this. Kanye, Axel Vervoordt, and Claudio Silvestrin. Claudio was the one who said it should be separated from the wall because it used to be up against the wall but we thought it'd be cooler this way.
"Eight versions of this prototype sink were made and it does actually slightly slope down, and you can see there's a slit for the water and it goes in.
"You can put it as high pressure as you want and no back-splash will come up."
She zoomed in on the sink, revealing the hole that drains the water and the sink's sloping design that allows the water to trickle down.
Kim also revealed that the entire bathroom ceiling is a light box, adding that her tub is big enough to fit all of her children at once.
