Ashley Roberts and Strictly star Giovanni Pernice announce shock split after dating for more than year
ASHLEY Roberts and Giovanni Pernice have announced they've split after dating for over a year.
Strictly dancer Giovanni, 29, revealed the news on Twitter tonight, insisting that they "remain friends".

He tweeted: "@ImAshleyRoberts and I have made the decision to separate as a couple. We remain friends and wish each other well for the future."
Ashley, 38, is yet to comment on the split but has been busy promoting the Pussycat Dolls new single REACT and their upcoming UK Arena tour.
The Sun revealed last year that the pair were dating and the new couple flew out to the US to spend Christmas with Ashley's family last month.
The Sun had told of Ashley, 38, and the Italian growing close in rehearsals during Strictly 2018, but they tried to keep it under wraps.

The couple then officially confirmed their romance on December 31, 2018, when they shared a public kiss outside a club in Miami.
Since then, Strictly fans have enjoyed witnessing their blossoming romance in photos on Instagram, and last May, smitten dancer Giovanni shared a gushing snap of the pair locking lips.
He wrote the caption: "I never thought anyone would ever make me smile, laugh and steal my heart as fast as you did !! I love you amore."
Giovanni has previously spoken out about how he does not believe in the infamous Strictly curse.

He said: "No. If you’re in a strong relationship, it’s not inevitable that you’ll begin an affair with your dance partner.
"The rumba, the Argentine tango, they require you to put across physical attraction. But it doesn’t have to spill over to real life."
The split comes as Ashley gears up for the Pussycat Dolls tour with Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt, Carmit Bachar and Jessica Sutta.

The Pussycat Dolls will be reuniting for a UK 2020 tour after a 10-year break.
It was officially announced that the Pussycat Dolls would be returning to perform nine shows across the UK in April.
