EastEnders’ Max Bowden refuses to stand as Emmerdale wins Best Serial Drama at the NTAs

EASTENDERS’ Max Bowden was spotted refusing to stand as Emmerdale wins Best Drama at the National Television Awards last night.

The 25-year-old actor – who also lost out on the Best Newcomer gong for his portrayal of Ben Mitchell in the soap earlier in the night – could be seen sat down and clapping slowly as the rival soap won.

The cast of Emmerdale took to the stage to pick up their gong

And viewers are convinced he muttered: “I’m not f***ing standing up,” as he clapped.

“Did he just say ‘I’m not f***ing standing?'” one viewer tweeted.

“Yes he did! Brilliant! He was Robbed!” another agreed

Other fans called him a “lengend” and one added: “Good for him!”

Max was all smiles on the red carpet earlier in the night

Earlier in the night Natalie Cassidy shouted “f**k off!” when co-star Matt Bowden missed out on the best newcomer gong.

The Sonia Fowler actress heckled Coronation Street’s Peter Ash after talented Matt, who plays Ben Mitchell, was left empty handed.

Natalie’s reaction was filmed and shared on Twitter by EastEnders fan account Walford Web, and the video showed her leaning over co-star Jamie Borthwick screaming her frustration.

Peter, who first rose to fame in Footballers’ Wives, won the gong for his role as Paul Foreman who was abused by stepdad Kel Hinchley.

While Ben Mitchell’s relationship with Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway and being arrested for ‘killing’ Keaunu saw him at the forefront of EastEnders last year.

Max and Paul shared the category with EastEnders’ Danny Dyer, Hollyoaks’ Gregory Finnegan and Emmerdale’s Danny Miller.
