Irina Shayk reveals she feels like she was born in the wrong body and was supposed to be a boy
SHE made her name as one of the world’s top catwalk stars but Irina Shayk says she spent her childhood feeling she had been born in the wrong gender.
The supermodel, who has dated Cristiano Ronaldo and Bradley Cooper, told British Vogue: “I felt I was supposed to be a boy.
“Maybe it’s because my father always wanted a boy.” Irina was a teen when she realised how she felt.
She added: “When my father passed away I thought, ‘Since I’m a guy, now it’s my time to take care of the family’.
“Later on in life I outgrew that, and I love being a woman.”
Irina Shayk also opened up about adjusting to life as a single mother in the candid interview.
The Russian beauty, 34, and Bradley, 45, split in June 2019 after four years together and share custody of their two-year-old daughter Lea De Seine.
Opening up about life post-Bradley, Irina admitted she feels like she's on "new ground" following their separation.
She told British Vogue: "I think in all good relationships you bring your best and your worst – it’s just the nature of a human being. Two great people don’t have to make a good couple.
"I think we’ve been very lucky to experience what we had with each other. Life without B is new ground."
The runway star admitted that sometimes being a single parent makes her feel like she's "falling apart" as she tries to balance it all.
"It's hard to find a balance between being a single mom and being a working woman and provider," she added. "Trust me, there are days I wake up and I'm like, 'Oh my god, I don't know what to do, I’m falling apart.'"
The exes are thought to each have custody 50 per cent of the time and have agreed to base themselves in New York City.
In February last year, Bradley's steamy Oscars performance with his A Star Is Born co-star, Lady Gaga, caused shockwaves as it was speculated that the two were in a secret relationship.
Gaga, 33, denied the allegations at the time, hitting back: "Yes, people saw love and guess what? That’s what we wanted you to see...
"When you’re singing love songs, that’s what you want people to feel."

During the Academy Awards, Irina was spotted sitting between her partner and the singer, with eagle-eyed fans later noticing that she had unfollowed Gaga on social media.
After the ceremony, Irina and Bradley were pictured looking miserable as they drove around Los Angeles.
The two stars have been together since 2015, welcoming their daughter two years later.
