THE Walking Dead’s Whisperers have proved they’re not above murdering a baby.
The mask-wearing faction previously left audiences horrified viewers as Alpha forced Gamma’s sister to leave her new-born baby in front of a horde of walkers.
Fortunately Connie was on hand to rescue the tot after sneaking through a wheat field and grabbing the tot in the nick of time.
Alas, in the trailer for part 2 of season 10, it looks like the villains are stopping to inhumane tactics to get the upper hand once again.
The teaser footage is made up of a series of rapid shots, but upon pausing one clip of Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos) it becomes clear there’s more going on that first meets the eye.
Rosita can be seen in the foreground, with baby Coco’s crib behind her.
A looming figure sneaks into view and leans over the cot, arms extended, before the shot cuts away.
A subsequent clip sees Rosita attempting to fight someone off with a baseball bat, adding weight to the idea she’s the victim of a home invasions and kidnapping.
Later on, Rosita is seen leaning in for a kiss with Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt), but the mood seems sombre rather than passionate.
Could she be giving him a kiss goodbye before setting out to retrieve her daughter?
The pair share plenty of history and seeing as Rosita recently lost Siddiq, the father of her baby, she has plenty of reasons to feel vulnerable.
Rosita isn’t the only character fans have reasons to worry about – the trailer also painted a bleak picture for Michonne (Danai Gurira).
Some already suspect she’ll be slaughtered by Alpha’s (Samantha Morton) henchman Beta (Ryan Hurst) in horrific scenes.
Meanwhile Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) ended the midseason finale trapped in an underground cave of Alpha’s making.
The Walking Dead will air on FOX in the UK on February 24 and be available to stream on NOW TV.
