EASTENDERS has confirmed a week of explosive episodes to mark its 35th anniversary as ONE Walford favourite meets their downfall in the River Thames and DIES.
But what fans really want to know is when is the EastEnders 35th anniversary episode and what is set to happen in the dramatic scenes?
When is the EastEnders 35th anniversary episode?
EastEnders will mark its 35th anniversary next month with a week of special episodes.
Fans don't have long to wait as the anniversary spectacular will air in the third week of February 2020.
Producer Jon Sen said: "We wanted to entertain the audience on the iconic river which has heralded the start of the show for 35 years."
What happens in the EastEnders anniversary episode?
One unlucky character is set to die a gruesome death in the anniversary spectacular.
The action will kick off as the Queen Vic landlords Mick and Linda Carter win the Pub of the Year contest and decide to celebrate in an extravagant fashion.
Linda decides she fancies a bash on a party boat along the river Thames, and for some reason Mick goes along with her party plan despite knowing about her booze problem.
The week’s episodes will focus on 24 hours as the boat party gets in full swing.
Although the BBC One soap are yet to confirm who meets their grisly end during the episode, filming pictures have revealed that a whole host of characters will be on board the boat.
Filming pics show Linda knocking back the booze and dancing on top of tables.
They also show the moment Mick seemingly ends up in the water as disaster strikes on the boat party.
His sister Tina yells out for him as she jumps onto a lifeboat with Jack and Max Branning in an effort to rescue him.
But it’s not yet clear how Mick ends up in the water, and whether it has anything to do with a drunk Linda.
Fans are convinced that it’ll be Keanu who meets his death in the anniversary episode - this time for real - after Martin and Linda staged his death.
Some fans have even speculated that it’ll be Callum Highway who meets his end - and at the hands of evil boyfriend Ben Mitchell.
BBC bosses have also promised drama back in Albert Square while half of the neighbourhood are away celebrating.
But with no exact plot details confirmed, fans will have to wait and see what happens both aboard the Carter party boat and back at the Square.
