Bake Off fans back Noel Fielding’s Mighty Boosh co-star Julian Barratt and Miriam Margolyes as new host
BAKE Off fans have backed Noel Fielding's Mighty Boosh co-star Julian Barratt and Miriam Margolyes to be the new host.
The hunt is on for Noel's next co-host after Sandi Toksvig revealed she would be leaving the show earlier this week.
The Channel 4 show has confirmed Noel will return to present the programme alongside judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.
But fans are still speculating who could join the trio for the next series, with Noel's Mighty Boosh co-star Julian a favourite among many of them.
The two men worked together on The Mighty Boosh from 2004 to 2007 and many would love to see them back on screen together.
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "julian barratt for the new presenter of bake off please #GBBO."
Another added: "I'll do literally anything to see Julian Barratt replace Sandi on #GBBO (stands for Great British Boosh Off now)".
A third agreed, writing: "They should get Julian Barrett in to replace Sandi on #GBBO Reunite the boosh."
However, other fans would love to see actress Miriam Margolyes join the show.
The 78-year-old BAFTA-winner is known for her whit and outrageous comments on TV shows and many viewers think she would be a great addition to the tent.

One wrote on Twitter: "I've seen a lot of excellent suggestions for @sanditoksvig's replacement on #GBBO but none finer than Miriam Margolyes. She's full of innuendo, such a fun person to be around. @Channel4, you know you want to."
Another tweeted: "Miriam Margolyes for #GreatBritishBakeOff please. Thanks. #GBBO."
A third added: "Or Miriam Margolyes, but then they'd have to move #GBBO to after the watershed. Also she'd probably have the contestants in tears, telling them their cake tasted like sh*t."
