Dancing On Ice’s Matt Evers admits he could fall for Ian ‘H’ Watkins after becoming UK telly’s first same-sex dance duo
MATT Evers admits he could fall for his Dancing On Ice skate partner Ian “H” Watkins.
Pro Matt and the former Steps singer are both single, gay and have spent hours together training.
In a telly landmark, they are the show’s first same-sex pairing.
The US skater said: “I’m very much a professional. I’ve never had the chance to have a ‘showmance’ because I’m a gay man and I’ve always skated with females.
“This is the first situation that could potentially spur something. At this stage I am so focused on making sure we’re getting our job done, I haven’t looked at the social aspect of our relationship.
“I haven’t looked at him as a potential partner outside the rink but I’d never say never. He is a lovely man.”
On the White Wine Question Time podcast, Matt said he had to prepare H for their rehearsals to be very physical.
He said: “The first day was quite personal.
“I always tell my partners we are going to get very personal very quickly — ‘I’m going to touch you in places your husband may not have touched you in a few years!’
“The first day I was teaching him to spin, he reached around my back and I said, ‘Grab my waist’ but he didn’t grab my waist. It was basically a full-on — what’s the word? — a rear-end inspection.”
Meanwhile, German pro Vanessa Bauer had to pull out of last night’s show after a bad fall left her with concussion.
Vanessa, partnered with Diversity's Perri Kiely, has been told to rest for a few days but vowed to be “fighting fit for next week”.
Alesha's fortune lookie
SHE looks a million dollars in this dress – but it’s not just Alesha Dixon's wardrobe helping her coin it in.
The former Mis-Teeq singer has signed a new, one-year deal with Britain’s Got Talent bosses to the tune of £1million.
It comes after reports the judge is a huge success on America’s Got Talent: The Champions.
A telly insider said: “Simon Cowell adores Alesha and said he’d pay whatever she wanted to keep her on board.
“The deal is £900,000 but includes a budget for travel, expenses and hair and make-up, which bumps it into six figures.”
Filming for the new BGT series starts this Saturday in London.

Gillian: Space keeps it racy
SEX Education star Gillian Anderson has torn up the rulebook when it comes to relationships.
The actress revealed that she and her partner Peter Morgan – writer of Netflix smash The Crown – live apart to keep things fresh between them.
She said: “My partner and I don’t live together. If we did, that would be the end of us.
“There is nothing locking us in, nothing that brings up that fear of, ‘Oh gosh, I can’t leave because what will happen to the house? How will we separate?’
“I start to miss the person I want to be with, which is a lovely feeling.”
Speaking to Style mag, the former X-Files icon said: “It is huge for me to be able to see a pair of trousers left lying on the floor at my partner’s house and to step over them and not feel it is my job to do something about it.”
Emma's final cut
BBC newsreader Emma Vardy says she was told to look a certain way when starting out.
She tweeted: “Early in my career I got told to cut my hair to do news. I’m ashamed to say I did but grew it back after feeling annoyed with myself. It was silly advice.”

At the Gold Movie awards in London last week she said: “I was disappointed when I saw the list, as it wasn’t diverse. I want to see more people of all ethnicities represented.
“I know it’s always been a struggle. It’s nice to see people of colour like Micheal being recognised. I think it comes down to the type-casting for different roles.”
