Trisha Goddard’s phone goes off on Good Morning Britain as she ‘texts’ live on air – leaving viewers fuming
TRISHA Goddard's phone alarm interrupted her Good Morning Britain stint today - leaving viewers fuming at home.
The Dancing On Ice star had appeared on the breakfast show to discuss Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's exit from the UK when her device blasted through the interview.
Presenters Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid were forced to apologise after asking Trisha her views on the royals' controversial decision.
Trisha said she supported Meghan, insisting the media had been "unprofessional" in their reporting of the couple, but her loud ring tone started going off as she scrambled to find the device.
Screeching "ooooh" as she grabbed the phone, one viewer tweeted: "Not too professional to leave your phone on when on air , up your game Trish."
Another said: "did you hear it? I was like whatttttttttttttt ;lol #GMB"
Another viewer remarked: "Did she just start texting on telly!"
And one more said: "Who takes their phone on a TV news show? Even worse, when it rings has to check the text! #trisha #gmb"
Last night, Piers Morgan hit out at Megan for "splitting Harry from the Royal Family" - after the couple announced they are quitting as senior royals.
The Good Morning Britain host posted a series of explosive tweets ripping into the pair as they revealed they are moving abroad.
He wrote: "People say I'm too critical of Meghan Markle - but she ditched her family, ditched her dad, ditched most of her old friends, split Harry from William & has now split him from the Royal Family.
"I rest my case".
The outspoken TV personality also tweeted a GIF from Harry and Meghan's wedding, writing "what Meghan wants... Meghan gets" - harking back to a comment the Duke was said to have made to staff.
Piers also dubbed the treatment of the Queen as "disgraceful", as it emerged no royals had been told about the statement.
He tweeted: "Wow. What a disgraceful way to treat the Queen. Shame on Harry and Meghan. Buckingham Palace says 'it's complicated'. Translation: the Queen's bloody furious."
After being told to leave the couple alone by former cricketer Kevin Pietersen he replied: "No. She’s breaking up our royal family after fleecing the public purse.
"As a taxpayer, and a Monarchist, I’m entitled to take a rather dim view of this."
