Piers Morgan vows to boycott ‘utterly pointless’ NTAs as it’s ‘inevitable’ GMB will lose out to This Morning

PIERS Morgan insists he won't attend this year's National Television Awards as Good Morning Britain will inevitably lose out to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's This Morning.

GMB anchor piers famously reacted with fury last year after his show missed out on the Best Daytime Show prize to This Morning, and it's prompted him to dig his heels in and snub the 2020 ceremony.

Speaking on today's show, he ranted: "I wish Holly and Phil all the best. Fingers crossed guys, hope you do it again, and Ant and Dec for the 20th time.

"It was a celebration last night for 25 years of the NTAs. Why bother? It’s literally groundhog day. Even when Ant had a year off walking his dog he got an award. It’s ridiculous.

"So I’m afraid this year I’m voting with my feet. This year, you are banned from voting Good Morning Britain, Britain. Do not vote for us."

He wasn't finished there though.

With his rival David Walliams hosting the ceremony, Piers said he's rather be lowered into an ocean of piranhas than listen to the BGT judge for three hours.

However, there was one positive from this year's nominations for Piers: BBC Breakfast didn't get nominated in his category.

GMB is in the Live Magazine Show category alongside This Morning, Loose Women and Sunday Brunch.

Last year Piers had a thunderous expression when he watched rivals This Morning pick up their gong.

The following day he ripped into Ant McPartlin's Best TV Presenter win following his ten months out from TV.
He mocked: "It just shows all you have to do is have the worst year of your career.
"You walk the dog all year and then you get presenter of the year. What are we doing here?"

"Someone get me a damn dog and I'll go out walking it for a year."

Then telly host then joked that the vote had been "rigged" and demanded another one.

He joked: "I think we were robbed. I think the election was rigged.

"I think the Russians were involved somehow. Donald Trump is almost certainly to blame for this."
