STELLA McCartney and Joaquin Phoenix were ridiculed after she praised the Joker actor for vowing to wear the same tuxedo at this year’s award events.

Eco-friendly designer Stella hailed the star’s decision to reduce waste but was heavily mocked for it.

She shared a pic of the Hollywood actor, 45, at the Golden Globes in a custom-made tuxedo by her with his best film drama actor award.

Stella, 48, wrote that he was “a winner” making “choices for the future of the planet”.

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan tweeted the sarcastic response: “Wow, this is an incredible sacrifice. Thank you, Joaquin — your planet is grateful.”

Ricky Gervais had blasted Hollywood stars as out of touch as he hosted the Globes.
