Meanwhile Phoebe Waller-Bridge, 34, was named best actress in a musical or comedy TV series for Fleabag, which also won best musical or comedy TV series.

Actress Olivia was spotted knocking back cocktails at the bar at LA’s Sunset Tower Hotel and telling friends how she was gutted not to have seen Brad Pitt, 56.

Asked what she was planning on doing after her success, the BAFTA and Oscar winner said: “I don’t know, maybe I’ll become a potter.”

Olivia, who lives in London with her hubby and three kids, added: “I’d never live in LA full-time, but I love awards season and the weather.”

Other A-list celebrities at the party included Renee Zellweger, 50, Jennifer Lopez, 50, Leonardo DiCaprio, 45, Reese Witherspoon, 43, and Jennifer Aniston, 50.

An onlooker said: “Olivia was having such a great time and enjoying the free bar.

“She had chatted so much that she had lost her voice and was struggling to talk when fans came up to her.”

Speaking on stage to accept her gong, Olivia admitted: “I don’t know what to say because I genuinely had already gotten a little bit boozy because I thought this wasn’t going to happen.”

Fleabag’s double win will bring renewed calls for star Phoebe to do a third series.

But she insisted the show will not return.

Speaking backstage, she said: “I haven’t changed my mind about season three. It feels more and more the right decision.

“We keep saying goodbye to it. We have to let it go. She is feeling exhausted. She has been through a lot.”

Sir Elton John, 72, won best original song from a film for I’m Gonna Love Me Again in his biopic Rocketman.
