Real Housewives of Dallas’ Brandi Redmond accused of mocking Asians in uncovered video

REAL Housewives of Dallas’ Brandi Redmond has been accused of mocking Asians in an uncovered video from 2017.

The 41-year-old filmed herself on Instagram saying: “They ask me what Asian I am because my eyes, they squinty."

The clip - filmed three years ago - was shared by co-star Steve Kemble - and outraged followers who claimed she was being "racist".

Bag Snob founder Tina Craig told : "I didn’t want to bring this up but I have so many childhood memories of kids making slanty eyes and mocking me or calling us rice pickers which made me ashamed to be Chinese.

“I hope by speaking out against this behavior, young Asians today won’t feel ashamed to be who they are and Caucasians would think twice before making ‘harmless jokes.’"

Someone else on Twitter said: "You should look in the mirror before you mock an entire race. Bottom line...it is racist to use an asian accent to mock people with "squinty eyes".

"On behalf of my husband, his family, and our children (who are vietnamese) Shame on you!"

Another added: "Brandi I'm a huge fan but this hurts me to the core.

"Growing up hearing people mock my family with this kind of accent. Mock my mother in front of me. People still think it's ok but its not. Its hurtful."

Brandi today said sorry to those she had offended. She said on social media: "A video resurfaced of me from three years ago which at the time I had posted and quickly deleted and then immediately apologized for my insensitivity.

"I would like to once again sincerely apologize for my offensive actions."

Mum-of-three Brandi was one of the original stars of The Real Housewives of Dallas when it launched in 2016.
