Love Island’s Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins spend Christmas apart as they struggle to see each other

LOVE Island stars Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins are spending Christmas apart this year.

The couple – who have been together since appearing on the ITV2 show this summer – have struggled to see each other due to conflicting schedules and the festive period is no different.

Maura, 28, has flown home to be with her family in Ireland, while Curtis, 23, has had to stay behind as  he is starring in panto at the moment.

Last week Curtis admitted they hadn’t seen each other for a while but Maura made a special visit to the Swan Theatre in High Wycombe to see her man in panto before heading home.

The dancer is starring as Dick Whittington until January 5 and only has today off before having to get back on stage.

Fans had been concerned for the couple after he admitted admitting he was too busy to see Maura.

During an interview with Lorraine he said: "We haven't had time to spend with everyone, and Maura. I haven't seen Maura in a little bit.

"We're lucky because we have mobile phones so we can stay in contact so easily but it is a shame."

By the time Curtis finishes in panto, Maura will just be kicking off her Dancing On Ice journey on the telly alongside Joe Swash, Lisa George and Trisha Goddard.

Curtis previously insisted the secret to a successful relationship with Maura is to give her space.

The reality TV stars are one of the last remaining couples still together despite fans' claims they were faking it all along.

"I allow her to do all of the things that she wants to do and she allows me the same. That gives us space,” he said.

"Then when we come and see each other, we really miss each other."
