The TV favourite shocked fans when she tripped and fell face-first on the ice during one of the routines, and hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield couldn't resist asking her about it this evening.

Reflecting on the tumble, Gemma said: "I remember thinking, 'I'm nearly at the end, I haven't fallen yet, this is a miracle, maybe I'll stay in for one more week.

"I got so excited, I just went too over the top with my movement, which you're not allowed to do in ice skating and my toe pick got caught – and bang."

She continued: "I thought I was dead. I literally thought I was dead.

The experience didn't impact Gemma too much though, with the brave star returning to the ice later in the show.

The self-proclaimed diva appeared as a Christmas fairy during past winner Ray Quinn's routine, and managed to seamlessly glide across the ice without a hitch.
