Mariah Carey shares first look at brand new All I Want For Christmas Is You music video

MARIAH Carey has teased the first look at the brand new music video for her hit song All I Want For Christmas Is You - 25 years after its initial release.

The festive classic reached number one in the charts for the first time this week, and the 49-year-old singer is celebrating its comeback success in style.

Taking to Instagram earlier today, the US diva shared a teaser clip of the re-imagined video, which shows Mariah dressed in a Santa-inspired costume.

Set in a winter wonderland, Mariah is crooning in the white-fur trimmed red belted dress with dancers in matching candy cane striped dresses with silver sequin skirts behind her.

Two Santa Claus' can be seen ice skating while snowmen also dance amid the dazzling Christmas trees and a picturesque white house.

It is a similar but modernised version of the original video, which saw a then-24-year-old Mariah dressed in a padded red snowsuit as she frolicked in the snow with puppies and Father Christmas.

Mariah captioned the post: "So excited to debut my brand new music video for ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU in celebration of #MC25.

"Tune in for the world premiere on DECEMBER 20th at 12AM ET!!! Join me for a LIVE Q&A right before at 11:30PM ET on YouTube.

"I can’t wait to share this moment with you all!!! @youtube @youtubemusic".

Until this year, Mariah's '90s song had only ever peaked at number three on the Hot 100's top 10 last year.

This year's triumph means that the mother-of-two has now enjoyed a total of 19 number ones - tying with Elvis Presley as the solo artist to have the most number ones in the Hot 100 chart.

Speaking out about the song in the past, Mariah shared: "I just remember where I was coming from, wanting it to be a classic.

"It was an accomplishment for me that I was really proud of."

All I Want For Christmas Is You is reported to have raked in $60million [£45m] in royalties over the years.
