Stormzy and ex Maya Jama texting again after he publicly apologised to her for cheating in new song Lessons
STORMZY has made peace with ex-girlfriend Maya Jama after apologising for cheating on her in his new record.
The grime superstar, who released album Heavy Is The Head this week, owned up to betraying radio host Maya in new track Lessons.
And it seems the public apology has helped him to end their toxic rift over the cheating — as he has revealed the pair are growing friendly again.
My sources say Stormzy has been exchanging text messages with Maya after he got in touch in a bid to build bridges.
And they hinted reconciliation could now be on the cards for the former couple.
One told me: “Stormzy has been texting Maya.
“He knew that he would bring their relationship centre stage again by releasing a track about it, and he felt it was right to reach out.
“Maya was obviously devastated that he had cheated on her, but the fact he has been so open about it has worked in his favour.
“Now they are getting on well again, and their close friends are hoping they might give their relationship another chance.”
The pair dated for four years but split in August this year amid a flurry of speculation that Stormzy — real name Michael Omari — had cheated.
Just days after the pair broke up he was pictured cosying up to singer/songwriter Jorja Smith during a night out at London’s The Box nightclub.
Amid a campaign of whispers, representatives for both Stormzy and Jorja were forced to deny that they had started seeing each other behind Maya’s back.
But addressing their split in Lessons, Stormzy admits that he DID cheat during their relationship.
On the track he raps that he had “done the dirt” before going on to say: “Fast forward now and my nephew is still asking for his Aun- tie Maya.
“Guess this is the karma for what I done to Maya . . . Greatest love I ever knew, I poured it down the drain.”
Later lyrics reveal the pair were even considering having a baby, with him saying: “You cannot imagine how I’m sorry, man, I’m showing you.
“Now I haven’t even got the luxury of knowing you. We was even meant to share a seed and let it grow in you.”
Speaking about the track last week, the grime MC said: “It was a hot topic and I’m going on record now and I’m apologising.
“It was a public disrespect. It was a public disrespect that needed a public apology.”
The source went on: “It is crystal clear how much Stormzy regrets how he treated Maya and he knows he doesn’t deserve a second chance.
“But that hasn’t stopped him hoping for one anyway.”

Jungle Cabell Ball
CAMILA Cabello’s new album might be titled Romance but she was more Fifty Shades Of Grey at the Jingle Bell Ball this weekend.
The pop beauty wowed in this dominatrix-style black corset and trousers with pearl detailing as she performed at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
And Camila – who is dating Canadian singer Shawn Mendes – looked like she enjoyed every minute of the show.
The night also saw Taylor Swift mark her 30th birthday on stage, while Niall Horan and Lizzo, dressed as a sexy Santa, also performed.
Now, where do I get a white, fur lined, red jumpsuit?
