CAROLINE Flack’s boyfriend Lewis Burton shouted "I was normal till I met her" as she was charged for allegedly attacking her toyboy lover, it has been claimed.
The Love Island host will now face court on assault charges after yelling was heard from her London home - with police rushing to the property in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Flack and Burton, a 27-year-old former professional tennis player and model, have been dating since July.
An eye-witnesses told the they heard Mr Burton yell at cops as they escorted him to a waiting car: "Bruv, I was normal until I met her."
And shocked neighbours said they were shocked to see police and paramedics outside the home.
One said: "I know Caroline and this new man. She’s very friendly and always speaks to us.
"I’ve seen some of her previous boyfriends at the house in the past. This new guy seems very friendly.
"I think they’ve been getting on well. They seemed happy. "I really hope things sort themselves out.”
Police cars were pictured outside Caroline's London home in the early hours of Thursday.
A Met Police spokesperson said officers had been called to an incident.
A statement said: "Caroline Flack, 40, of Islington was charged on Friday, 13 December with assault by beating. She will appear on bail at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23 December.
"This follows an incident at approximately 05:25hrs on Thursday, 12 December after reports of a man being assaulted. He was not seriously injured."
A London Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed they had been called to a home in Islington where they treated two people at the scene.
One person was taken to hospital.
Ms Flack was pictured leaving a Soho restaurant with her 6ft3in boyfriend after an ITV business meeting two days before the alleged assault.
Last month, the Love Island host, 40, attended a London beauty awards on her return from filming Winter Love Island in the South African sun.
The series has been confirmed to start on January 8, 2020.
Ms Flack has hosted Love Island since 2015 and has been dating her current boyfriend since July.
Last year, she was pictured waving a phone in his face, then ignoring him, on a yacht off the coast of Ibiza.
Former professional tennis player Mr Burton is now signed to Select Model Management as a model.
Last month, Ms Flack denied rumours the couple had got engaged.
The star teased her fans when she shared a photo from a fashion shoot on Instagram and captioned: "Shot on a rooftop in LA during a marriage proposal."
A representative for Caroline confirmed to Sun Online that she is "100% not engaged".
The ITV 2 presenter has been romantically linked to with England rugby ace Danny Cipriani and was engaged to Apprentice star Andrew Brady, who branded their relationship "toxic".
In an Instagram post last month, he revealed he had covered a tattoo of his ex's initials on his wrist.
Ms Flack become a well-known face for fronting shows including I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here Now and The Xtra Factor.

A spokesman for Ms Flack told Sun Online: "We confirm that Police attended Caroline’s home following a private domestic incident.
"She is co-operating with the appropriate people to resolve matters. We will not be making any further comment for legal reasons."
An ITV spokesman declined to comment about her arrest.
