JOHN Paul McQueen is set to return to Hollyoaks to care for sister Mercedes in the wake of her shooting.
The beloved teacher - who is played by actor James Sutton in the Channel 4 soap - will be making a shock comeback to the village after coming to terms with his rape at the hands of Finn O’Connor. Here's the lowdown from the village...
1. John Paul McQueen returns
John Paul is set to return to be at big sister Mercedes’s side as she recovers from her shooting.
But he’s fraught with horror when he comes face to face with his rapist Finn O’Connor.

2. Warren Fox makes a comeback
Coronation Street fans should brace themselves for a foxy return as bad boy Warren Fox is set come back to Hollyoaks for good.
Warren kidnapped Sienna’s daughter Sophie straight after she gave birth to her twins in 2017, and later abducted Sebastian.
The former couple are set for a brutal showdown that will air in the new year.
3. Mitchell comes out
Mitchell Deveraux has had a tough few months after two-timing Scoot Drinkwell and Cleo McQueen.
When a horrified Cleo discovered the truth, Mitchell begged her not to tell anyone else.
But Dr D thinks he’s finally ready to come out of the closet this Christmas.
The boys go on their first date to the village festive market, but when they bump into a familiar face Mitchell is clearly unsettled.

4. Martine’s baby bombshell
It’s not just Mitchell who’s got a secret chez Deveraux.
His mum Martine gave birth to twins but gave one of the children away.
After Walter taunts her over her bad parenting, Martine vows to turn over a new leaf.
Will this mean she’ll fill Mitchell in on his secret twin this Christmas?
5. Luke’s awful secret
Tragedy seems to follow Luke Morgan around in Hollyoaks.
Luke recently got engaged to Cindy Cunningham after a whirlwind romance.
But his stab at happiness was ruined when he was diagnosed with a type of terminal dementia.
So far Luke has kept the news from Cindy, but when she sets out to punish him for treating her badly will he reveal the truth?
6. Maxine spends Christmas alone
Hollyoaks fans know that Maxine has been suffering from Munchausen’s syndrome and lying that she’s terminally ill.
Her fibbing came to an explosive head when husband Damon ended up in prison for fraud as a result of her lies.
This Christmas, a lonely Max struggles to give her daughter Minnie the festive season she deserves.

7. Nancy admits the truth
Nancy Osborn hosts a New Year’s party for her mates.
But as usual, Nancy gets carried away in the festivities and publicly announces to Mandy that she slept with Darren in the tunnels.
