Stormzy opens up about split from Maya Jama on new album Heavy Is The Head
STORMZY’S ex-girlfriend could feel a pang of heartache if she listens to his new album.
I’m told the grime MC opens up for the first time about his split from telly presenter Maya Jama on the record.
He added the song Lessons after the couple’s four-year relationship ended — which The Sun revealed four months ago.
A music insider said: “Stormzy’s never spoken out about his split from Maya but it really hit him hard.
“They were very close and lived together, there was so much history.
“Lessons is a heartfelt song and a real highlight of the album — he had to get it on there.”
Stormzy spent two-and-a-half years working on Heavy Is The Head but included the track at the last minute when he found new inspiration in his heartbreak.
The album — the follow-up to 2017’s Gang Signs & Prayer — has been a long time coming, with first single Vossi Bop reaching No1 in May.
He was still with Maya then and referred to her as a “goddess” on the track.
Having held off from playing the majority of the other songs on the collection for several months, the entire record is being kept under lock and key ahead of its release tomorrow.
In fact, Stormzy’s team are so terrified of it leaking they are even reluctant to let critics listen to it.
He will go head-to-head in the charts with Harry Styles, also putting out his second album, Fine Line.
I told last week how Harry says on the record that his “wandering hands” were to blame for his split from model Camille Rowe.
If you’re sick of festive cheer, this pair’s heartbreak music will be right up your street.

Cats are out to play in MTV pre-tour special
IT is four months until they kick-off their reunion tour but fans of the Pussycat Dolls won’t have to wait that long for their next fix of the fivesome.
MTV bosses have filmed a one-off, 30-minute special documentary celebrating their reunion.
It will air in the New Year and include exclusive interviews with the band – Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts, Carmit Bachar and Kimberly Wyatt.
A telly insider said: “The Pussycat Dolls’ comeback is the most exciting reunion since the Spice Girls, so everyone wants a piece of the action.
“The special has new interviews with all the women documenting how they came back together and plans for the tour.”
I exclusively revealed in September the group, minus Melody Thornton, were making their return.
A source added: “If they can make it work, all the women would love to get back into the studio to make some new music.” That would be catnip to fans.
What we really, really want...
- Why did you snub the Spice Girls reunion?
- Are you in love with David?
- Why do you never smile?
- Do you really hate the other Spice Girls?
- Can you actually sing?
Victoria's secrets are utterly pants
WHEN Victoria Beckham shared a video titled , I thought she might come clean about the things that people actually want to know.
But the vlog released this week, her latest bid to stay relevant for young people, didn’t seem to answer any of my burning questions.
According to Victoria – who insists on speaking in the third person throughout the five-minute video – everyone wants to know what foundation she wears, what she uses on her face and unbelievably: “What about eye make-up thrills you?”
I can guarantee that no one has ever googled that about Victoria Beckham.
But with a turbulent relationship with husband David and her decision not to return to the Spice Girls, I’ve made a list of the questions that she should have answered if it was based on what people really wanted to hear about her.

James is an old pro
DON’T worry, James Corden isn’t really this old. He was aged with prosthetics while filming with Meryl Streep, for Netflix film The Prom in LA.
The musical follows two washed-up Broadway stars who travel across the US to back a teenage girl’s wish to take her girlfriend to their prom.
I can’t wait to see James sing and dance. . .
Taylor's worries over mum
TAYLOR Swift has hinted her mum’s battle with cancer is behind her decision not to go on another lengthy stadium tour next year.
In a new interview, the singer – who wrote about Andrea’s illness on the song Soon You’ll Get Better – said: “This is a year where I have to be there for my family. There’s a lot of question marks throughout the next year.”
Taylor, who will play a select few shows in the US and some festivals in Europe, is also devoting less time to social media. She added: “Sometimes, when I open Twitter, I get so overwhelmed that I just immediately close it.
“I haven’t had it on my phone in a while because I don’t like to have too much news. There’s only so much bandwidth my brain can really have.”
Daisy Strikes Back
LOOKS like Star Wars heroine Daisy Ridley is taking fashion tips from Darth Vader in this caped creation.
The Brit actress sparkled like a galaxy far, far away in the white gown at a fan event for new film The Rise Of Skywalker.
She was joined by co-stars John Boyega and Oscar Isaac, plus C-3PO and R2-D2 in Tokyo for what is set to be her final movie in the franchise.
Daisy hopes to go out with a bang after the previous film, 2017’s The Last Jedi, prompted more than 116,000 people to sign a petition for it to be erased from the Star Wars canon.

"Also, I didn’t ask! Go and put that on social media, where I can’t read it’. Why do we all have to have such a loud opinion about something?” Sorry, Daisy, turns out Star Wars is quite popular. Who knew?
