Thankfully fans don't have to wait too much longer for the highly anticipated movie, which will be released next summer and will follow a single mum and her two children as they move to Oklahoma.

The family inherit a mysterious property, with the son - played by Finn Wolfhard - telling a pal: "Honestly my mom won't say it but we're completely broke and the only thing that's left in our name is this creepy old farmhouse our grandfather left us in the middle of nowhere."

Their new town is then hit by daily earthquake-type shaking which no one can explain.

Actor Paul Rudd is then seen telling Finn's sister (McKenna Grace): "There hasn't been a ghost siting in 30 years, New York in the 80s...it was like the walking dead."

As he speaks, footage of the original cast appears on screen, but the teen replies: "My grandfather died, my mom says we're just here to pick through the rubble of his life."

But in another scene, he finds a Ghostbusters suit in the wardrobe and a range of equipment before bringing out the classic Ghostbusters car.

While original cast members Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Earnie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver aren't seen in the trailer, they are expected to make cameos in the new movie.

Sadly Harold Ramis - who played Egon Spengler - passed away in 2014.

The new film is directed by Jason Reitman, who is the son of Ivan Reitman who directed the original Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II.

It comes after the 2016 reboot which featured an all-female cast including Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife will be released on July 10, 2020 in the US and UK.
