In 2010 he posted his first video which saw him killing two kittens, before later footage showed another kitten being eaten alive by a Burmese python.

The Internet was up in arms at his behaviour and the documentary follows the real life people who started a manhunt to find him.

But things took a more sinister turn when Luka moved on to murdering humans, killing Chinese student Jun Lin after they met on a gay Internet dating site.

The twisted killer filmed the murder and posted it online, before he cut up Jun Lin and posted the body parts to various schools and politicians in Vancouver.

Luka then fled Canada, sparking an international manhunt, before eventually being caught in an Internet cafe in Berlin, Germany.

The official synopsis reads: "A twisted criminal's gruesome videos drive a group of amateur online sleuths to launch a risky manhunt that pulls them into a dark underworlds."

The series is directed by Mark Lewis, who told Deadline: "What is so mind-blowing for me about this documentary series is that it plays out like a real thriller, with twists and turns that no-one will see coming, a cast of internet heroes whose resourcefulness will have you cheering from the sidelines, and a murderer whose true identity will have you gasping when he is finally unmasked."

However, Netflix viewers are already begging to know if they will have to watch the disturbing footage of Luka killing the cats.

Another posted: "I'd like the know the same. I'd like to watch the doc, but cannot stand any form of animal abuse, even hearing it would be way too stressful for me."

A third agreed, writing: "Same here. If there is even noises of the abuse I won’t be able to handle it."
