DAKOTA Johnson's delightfully awkward appearance on The Ellen Show has gone viral as the actress called out host Ellen DeGeneres for blowing off her birthday.
The 30-year-old actress popped in for a chat with Ellen but once Dakota's Malibu b-day bash came up in conversation, viewers were treated to some televised tension.
DeGeneres forgot that she was invited to the starlet's 30th bash and apparently blew it off to hang out with (!).
“How was the party? I wasn’t invited," the 61-year-old quipped, causing Twitter users to go into.
The weekend of Dakota's birthday, Ellen and her wife Portia de Rossi were spotted at a Dallas Cowboys game sitting next to the former president and his wife, Laura Bush.
But Dakota, who was promoting her new movie The Peanut Butter Falcon, wasn't letting it go that easily.
"Actually, no, that’s not the truth, Ellen,” she announced to the audience's delight.
Dakota said she invited Ellen because the talk show host gave her a hard time about last year.
“Last time I was on the show, last year, you gave me a bunch of s**t about not inviting you, but I didn’t even know you wanted to be invited,” Johnson said.
For once, Ellen appeared to be lost for words on her own show: “Well, who wouldn’t want to be invited to a party?” she asked.
“Well, I didn’t even know you liked me,” Johnson replied, to Ellen's horror.
“Of course I like you. You knew I liked you," Ellen said, before an incredibly awkward silence.
"You’ve been on the show many times, and don’t I show like?” she added.
But Dakota was adamant, even when Ellen questioned whether she'd definitely been invited to the gathering.

The Fifty Shades of Gray star insisted that Ellen definitely received it and instructed her to ask her producer Jonathan.
“Oh yeah, I had that thing ... ” DeGeneres joked after her producers agreed with feisty Dakota.
Thankfully, DeGeneres offered a belated thank-you, maintaining that she “didn’t remember [the invite] until just now.”
But things didn't get any better as Dakota cited Tig Notaro as her No.1 comedian whilst Ellen said Jennifer Aniston was her fave actress.
“Gosh, this isn’t going well,” Johnson laughed after blurting that she left one of Ellen's party's early, telling the audience "I'm sorry" as she pretended to leave.
But Ellen wasn't quite finished.
She then played a clip of Dakota's co-star Shia LeBouf saying she was his best on screen kiss before promptly taking it back.
Of course, social media had a field day with their awkward interview, with user noting that "dakota johnson on ellen is exactly how some of my dates go [sic]."
asked for the clip to be played "at my funeral" and were full of praise for Dakota's conduct on the show.
"Dakota Johnson if you’re reading this I appreciate the chaos in which you thrive and I’m free to hang out most nights and weekends," one read.

Fans weren't impressed that Ellen apparently enjoyed a football came with former President instead of attending Dakota's party.
"Dakota using only her eyes to call out Ellen for skipping her birthday to hang out with George Bush, is now my mood for when people ask me to work for exposure in 2020," joked one .
Meanwhile, Dakota's birthday was still a star-studded affair, with the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow and and Kate Hudson in attendance.
