ELIZABETH BANKS recently appeared on the Graham Norton Show on the back of her newest movie Charlie's Angels.

She has been in some very famous films and is one of the finest actors out there, but what else do we know about her?

Who is Elizabeth Banks?

Banks was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to father and Vietnam veteran Mark Mitchell and mother Ann Wallace who worked in a bank.

She is the oldest of four children.

Her success began in the 2000s with roles in the first three Spiderman movies and the 40-year-old virgin.

Later on she starred in other famous franchises such as Pitch Perfect and The Hunger Games and has since become a director.

What is the Charlie's Angel's director known for?

Aside from acting, Banks has become a very handy film director.

She made her directorial film debut in 2015 with Pitch Perfect 2, which amassed $69 million over the opening weekend.

The 45-year-old made history as her film set a record for the highest grossing film on the opening weekend for a first-time director.

She also co-produced and starred in Pitch Perfect 3 and has done the same in her recently-released movie Charlie's Angels.

Did Elizabeth Banks mention Prince Andrew on the Graham Norton show?

During her appearance on the latest episode on The Graham Norton Show, Norton himself attempted to embarrass her by revealing an old picture to the audience.

The picture shows her in a white polo-neck shirt with a huge amount of curly hair.

However, the American had the last laugh with an incredible response to Graham's question by referring to disgraced Duke of York Prince Andrew.

Graham says: "That’s Marge Simpson hair... I’ve only just noticed this hand, is it someone saying, 'you’ll regret this photograph'?

Banks' incredible response was: "That's Prince Andrew's hand", leading to gasps from fellow guests Kylie Minogue and Ricky Gervais and echoes of laughter from the audience.

Is Elizabeth Banks married and does she have children?

Elizabeth Banks is married to sports writer and film producer Max Handelman.

They tied the knot in 2003 and have two children together, Felix who was born in 2011 and Magnus who was born in 2012.

Handelman co-produced Charlie's Angels with his wife and also co-produced the Pitch Perfect franchise.

He is a fan of NBA basketball team the Portland Trail Blazers.
