Strictly’s Bruno Tonioli sets sights on recording contract after making his singing debut on the show
AFTER wowing Strictly Come Dancing viewers with his singing voice on Saturday night’s show, Bruno Tonioli has his sights set on securing a recording contract.
The Italian-born judge opened the programme with a rendition of Frankie Valli’s hit Can’t Take My Eyes Off You – and made quite an impression.
Now the telly favourite is hoping to release a covers album next year.
A source close to the star said: “Bruno has been bugging producers for ages to let him sing on the show and was delighted when they finally gave him a shot.
“The performance went down a storm and he has his heart set on releasing music. It’s been a life-long dream of his and now that fans have seen him in action, he is hoping to ink a deal soon.”
Bruno has told in the past that his singing is self-taught. He said: “We never had the financial resources for me to be trained; instead I learned from watching and mimicking films.
“I always longed to be in the entertainment industry. As a toddler, my uncle put me on the table, switched on the radio and I would dance and entertain people.
“The performing persona that turns on when there’s music and singing was always in me.”
With more than ten million people tuning into Strictly every week, so I’m sure popular Bruno won’t have a problem shifting records . . .
