Blue Story – age rating, plot and cast
AFTER a long and agonising wait, Rapman's film Blue Story finally hit cinemas on November 22, 2019.
It has been very popular with cinema-goers so far and here we take a look at who stars in this ground-breaking movie and what it is all about.
What is the age rating?
Blue Story has been given the rating 15 and runs for 1 hour and 31 minutes.
The rating is due to the violence and disturbing scenes that occur during the movie.
The London-based film involves very strong language and even drug misuse.
There is also evidence of threat and horror as viewers are taken on a journey through an emotional and heartwrenching tale.
What is the plot?
Andrew "Rapman" Onwubolu's first feature film tells the story of a feud between two neighbouring towns and encompasses themes of love, crime, family and betrayal.
Two friends turn bitter enemies as Timmy (played by Stephen Odubola) and Marco (Michael Ward), join rival gangs and fight to the very end to ensure the other is buried six feet under.
Right through secondary school, Timmy and Marco are inseparable and always look out for each other.
They live in areas of Peckham and Deptford that are in a post code brawl with one another - but can their long-lasting friendship survive the divide?
Cracks begin to form when Marco is attacked by some of Timmy's old friends.
Previously speaking about the film's message, Onwubolu - otherwise known as Rapman - said he wanted people to understand how a "good kid" could lose their way.
He: "I want people who see the film to learn that these kids are not all spawns of Satan.
"They didn't come from child abuse or neglectful mothers. What kids go through in the school playground is so intense, it all starts there."
