Coronation Street fans spot familiar face in Weatherfield as actor returns to play his FOURTH character
CORRIE fans have spotted a familiar face in the Cobbles’ cast — but the actor is playing his fourth character.
Mark Chatterton is on his fifth stint in Weatherfield after first appearing as Neville Hawthorne in a few episodes in 1986.
He was then cast as Gordon Blinkhorn — Raquel Wolstenholme’s admirer — for a run in 1992 and 1993.
And after a one-off showing as Gerry Burton in 2003, he returned as Neville in 2005 and 2007.
But the ITV soap’s chiefs have hired him again and he was seen this week as pawn shop boss Barry Morgan.
One fan tweeted: “Classic Corrie guest star alert! That was Raquel’s ex-boyfriend Gordon-slash-Norris’s son in law Neville — actor Mark Chatterton — as the pawn shop owner.”

A telly source said: “The producers must really like this guy for him to keep turning up in Corrie in a number of different guises.
“The thing is, Coronation Street has such knowledgeable fans that they spot things like this in a heartbeat.”
Mark has also had bit-parts in Emmerdale and Casualty, as well as roles in The Cops and My Parents Are Aliens.
