Ariana Grande shares backstage pic with ‘my guy’ Bernie Sanders after tour performance
ARIANA Grande is feeling the Bern in 2020.
Grande, 26, showed her support for Sen. Bernie Sanders on Instagram by posting photos of herself with the Democratic presidential candidate.
She thanked Sanders for attending her Atlanta concert on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday night's presidential debate in Georgia.
"MY GUY," she wrote. "Thank you Senator Sanders for coming to my show, making my whole night and for all that you stand for !!!"
"@headcountorg and i are doing our best to make you proud. i'm so proud of my fans for paying attention and getting involved. we adore you! also... i will never smile this hard again."
But aligning herself to the Democrat didn't go down well with all her fans, some of whom begged her to stay out of politics and not to push her agenda on them.
"As much as I love Ariana Grande, I think the way she pushed her political views this way, especially since she has young fans (like me) is wrong," one user commented.
"And this is when I unfollow," wrote another. "Thank u, next."
HeadCount is an organization that hosts voter registration drives at concerts to connect with young people through music artists.
The Grammy-nominated singer has partnered with the non-profit to encourage her fans to register to vote at every stop of her Sweetener World Tour.
More than 20,000 young voters have registered at Grande's concerts so far.
And despite facing some criticism, other fans gushed over the photo and praised Grande for using her platform to motivate young voters.
"I love this so much!!!," wrote one fan. "Thank you for leveraging your platform toward liberation!"
"Legendary,"commented another.

The Vermont senator also shared the photos to his Instagram and Twitter accounts and thanked Grande for her social justice advocacy and her fight "for everyone who is struggling."
Grande isn't the only high-profile entertainer to support the politician.
Rapper Cardi B sat down with the 78-year-old senator back in August to discuss political issues like education, healthcare, income inequality, and racism.
