Ariana Grande nominated for record breaking FIVE Grammys but BTS snubbed
ARIANA Grande landed FIVE Grammy nominations today making her the fastest accumulating artist ever with four Best Pop Vocal Album nods in just six years.
The Thank U, Next singer is also up for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Pop Solo Performance, Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Pop Vocal Album.
But despite all her previous nominations, she's only ever won on individual award - Best Pop Vocal Album last year with Sweetner.
Body-positive star Lizzo was the real winner today, with eight nominations.
She was nominated for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, New Artist, Pop Solo Performance, R&B Performance, Traditional R&B Performance, and Urban Contemporary Album.
The 31-year-old songwriter and flute-player broke into the music scene back in 2017 with her hit Truth Hurts.
Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X followed close behind with six nominations each.
But one of the biggest disappointments of this year’s nominations was the lack of BTS.
After being nominated last year for Best Recording Package and becoming the first K-pop to present an award at the shows, fans expected them to be nominated this year.
Unfortunately, they were shut out of the show. And they weren’t the only ones.
Fans were also mad that Taylor Swift, who recently released Lover, was not nominated for Best Album of the Year as she usually is.
The Grammys will air February 11, 2020 and the winners will be picked by 11,000 judges.
Some of the 2018 Grammys winners included Childish Gambino, who won Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Rap Performance; Lady Gaga for Pop Solo Performance and Pop Duo/Group Performance; and Kacey Musgraves for Best Country Song, Best Album of the Year, Best Country Album, and Best Country Solo Performance.
