THE wait for season 12 of Doctor Who is almost up – and bosses have gifted fans something to tide them over.
The BBC sci-fi hit will return to the small screen early next year and the show’s official Twitter account has been releasing all sorts of goodies in the run up to the launch.
This week’s offering came in the form of a teaser clip, showing Jodie Whittaker and her fellow time travellers on set.
The accompanying caption confirmed that filming was complete and the show was now firmly in the editing stage.
“That’s a wrap, we’ve finished filming! Are you ready for Series 12?” the post read.
Unsurprisingly, the answer was a resounding ‘yes’ from fans, who were quick to reply in their hundreds.
“I was ready for it a year ago will you please hurry it up lads. This isn't an easy addiction to manage,” one user joked.
“We’ve been ready since January 2nd mate,” a second echoed.
“HELL YEAH! Bring it on!” a third chimed in.
While a fourth wrote: “Actually cannot wait, Jodie Whittaker is such an amazing Doctor. Don’t make us wait too long please.”

"There's a couple of monsters that they've come up with that are absolutely terrifying – and I mean terrifying," he added to Radio Times.
As the presenter of The Chase, Bradley has dealt with the likes of The Beast and The Governess, so he certainly knows a dastardly villain when he sees one…
Doctor Who will return to BBC One and iPlayer in early 2020.
