Teen Mom’s Amber Portwood quits Instagram after being trolled over machete attack on ex
TEEN Mom star Amber Portwood has quit Instagram after she took a plea deal in a domestic violence case against her ex-boyfriend.
The reality TV star shared a picture with her daughter Leah, 11, and told fans: "Last photo with me and this beautiful little lady yesterday."
She added: "I'm going to hand over my Instagram so I won't have to worry about negativity and to move forward in a positive light."
Continuing, she explained: "You can still contact me though. I will get certain messages #sendinglove #beautifulsouls."
Amber has been accused of attacking Andrew Glennon with a machete while he was holding their one-year-old son James.
In October TMZ reported that the 29-year-old had accepted a plea deal that reduced her conviction to one felony charge for the incident.
The deal would then reduce the conviction to a misdemeanour if she behaves during her one-year probation.
However the deal could be in jeopardy after YouTuber Katie Joy - the woman behind a YouTube account that documented Amber's domestic violence case - contacted the DA's Office to accuse the reality star of making threats.
Katie's Instagram account, Without A Crystal Ball, published a video and audio of Amber and Andrew's machete incident earlier this month.
Amber said on Instagram: "You don't have a job and I know you don't have a job, I know your email, I know your address because we had to get that for court reasons. And all types of things like that, not for anything else."
"I wasn't the one that got it anyways, it was literally court reasons, so you can get what you're getting," she said.
"I think you've got yourself into a situation with something that you can't handle. You're kinda confusing me with the other people that you've attacked."
Katie claims Amber was talking to her directly in the video.
A rep for Amber told TMZ: "These recordings, obtained without Amber's knowledge and disseminated without her consent, serve as a painful reminder of a challenging and complicated time in her life she would like to move on from.
"Her full focus continues to remain on reaching a move favourable custody agreement for her son, James."
Leah lives with her father Gary Shirley, who has full custody.
