The Crown’s leading ladies hit up Hollywood for the season three US premiere
THE latest jewels in The Crown take their seats for the US premiere.
Olivia Colman, Helena Bonham Carter and Erin Doherty, who play the Queen, Princess Margaret and Princess Anne in the Netflix drama, attended the Hollywood screening.
The regal trio all wore black and white as they walked the red carpet at the stateside launch of the Netflix show’s new series.
They were closely followed by Gillian Anderson who plays Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the fourth season, which is expected to air next year.
The third series dropped yesterday in the UK - and it has already landed in hot water.
Fans were furious when the Queen cried crocodile tears following the Aberfan coal-tip disaster which claimed 144 lives, mostly children, in 1966.
Her Majesty is seen remarking: “I dabbed a bone-dry eye and by some miracle no one noticed.”
Viewers took to social media to complain about the fake display of emotion, with one saying: "One does find it distasteful though, the portrayal that our beloved monarch had no feeling at Aberfan.

"The Crown I utterly refuse to believe this.”
However, a publicist for The Crown said: “We show a Monarch who is naturally restrained, while advisers question her stoicism. We make it clear she has a strong bond with Aberfan.”
And many fans praised the show for shining a light on the suffering after the disaster and said the episode had moved them to tears.
