Piers Morgan tells Rebekah Vardy he’ll ‘repair her public image’ as she admits strain since Wagatha Christie
PIERS Morgan told Rebekah Vardy he'll "repair her public image" after her fallout with Coleen Rooney.
The Good Morning Britain host, 54, watched his beloved Arsenal take on Rebekah's husband Jamie's Leicester City last week and swiftly offered his services following the Wagatha Christie scandal.
Writing in his column for today's , Piers said: "I walked into the Vardy box at Leicester's King Power Stadium, hugged Rebekah, now eight months pregnant with her fifth child, and announced: 'I'm here to repair your public image!'
"'Oh Christ,' she chuckled, 'that's all I need ' 'You OK?' I asked, more seriously. 'Just about,' she replied, 'but it's been very hard, for me and the whole family, especially with the baby coming.' I can imagine."
Piers previously refused to take sides in the fallout that saw Coleen accuse Rebekah of leaking stories about her to the press - something she vehemently denies.
However, he called Coleen's behaviour "ill-advised" in his column, continuing: "Whatever the truth, and Rebekah's just as emphatic - and convincingly so - in private with her denials that she's the leaker, Coleen's decision to humiliate her friend at that stage of a pregnancy was very ill-advised.
"Indeed, the disgusting abuse Rebekah's received as a result, including death threats, has been so bad that Robbie Williams today attacked Coleen for playing a 'dangerous game', provoking a 'level of shame' that could be 'suicide-causing'."
Last month he once again waded into the WAG row claiming Coleen was naive to post "secrets" to 367 people on Instagram.
The outspoken journalist wrote how he was impressed with how Coleen apparently weeded out the account giving stories to the media.
But he argued Coleen had already opened herself up to an invasion of privacy by being on social media.
Coleen told her 1.2 million followers that Rebekah, had been telling the Press about her “private posts and stories”.
She had blocked all her Instagram followers, apart from Rebekah, from a private account and posted a number of fictitious tales.
