Softy Chris Martin will swear on a Coldplay record for the first time on their new album
MILD-mannered nice guy Chris Martin will swear on a Coldplay record for the first time on their new album — joking they have earned their first ever Parental Advisory sticker.
The frontman insists he curses in real life but drummer Will Champion, 41, has always banned him from including any four-letter words in previous songs.
But their eighth album Everyday Life, set to be released next week, includes three uses of the f-word and will includes a Parental Advisory warning.
The Yellow singer, 42, said: “It’s the only swearing there’s ever been.
“On some on our earlier albums I would say to Will, ‘Here’s a song, here’s an idea,’ and it would be like, ‘Dah, dah, dah, f***ing’.
“He’d say, ‘I like the song but don’t put that in’.
“Our drummer Will would always edit out any swearing and I do what Will says because that’s how we work.
“This time there’s a bit of swearing in two songs and I showed him and he was like, ‘Yep, great’. And I was like, ‘But you want to get rid of the swearing?’ And he went, ‘Nope.’ So it stayed.
“I swear a lot in my life because I think language is there to be played like music.”
Chris has earned a reputation as a nice bloke following a long list of charitable performances.

And he remains good friends with his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, 47, following their “conscious uncoupling” in 2014.
He told US radio station ALT 98.7FM: “I don’t think any words are wrong, well, there’s about four that are really wrong.
“But in terms of swearing, I like to swear sometimes to reinforce a point and this the first album where Will Champion allowed me to do so. It’s still pretty mild, we get the parental warning sticker but only just. It’s only about three words.”
