Why were the last two years cancelled?

In 2018, the MOBO awards were cancelled with founder Kanya King announcing that MOBO is heading into a 'brand new era' and it was time for 'big changes'.

The statement also revealed the award show would return in 2019, but that did not materialise.

King first launched the MOBO Awards in 1996.
