Spice Girls snubbed chance to perform live with Adele during stadium tour
WITH Victoria Beckham missing from their summer reunion tour, I’d have thought the Spice Girls would have been eager to get in a fifth member – especially if the biggest superstar in the world offered to fill in.
But Mel C has revealed the group REJECTED the chance to duet with Adele at their final concert at London’s Wembley Stadium in June — because they didn’t want her showing up their vocals.
Mel C explained: “I heard a rumour that she did want to come up and do 2 Become 1. But we said no because, who wants to sing with Adele?”
The superstar was at the show and later posed with Mel, Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Mel B backstage, having previously told how she was obsessed with the group as a child.
But there could still be a chance for her to join the girls on stage, as Mel C is hopeful they will perform as a band again.
At an event in London she said: “I’d love to do more shows. It was so loved by so many people and we have fans all over the world.
“And we have fans we have never gone to, whether it be in South East Asia, South America or even Australia.”
Mel, who last week released her new solo single High Heels, also opened up about designer Victoria’s decision not to return to the group following their performance at the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.
She explained: “Victoria s**t herself when we did it, not literally, but she was very nervous when we were at the Olympic Stadium. And you know what? It’s completely understandable. Her life has changed so much and she has worked so hard.
“She’s at the top of her game in a very different industry and for her to come back to performing, she was petrified.
“I think if the nerves are that uncomfortable and it kind of outweighs the joy that you get from the performance, then I understand.”
But she said she is convinced Victoria would return if they were to ever play Glastonbury.
Mel said: “She f***ing would. She would. She’d love to do Glastonbury. The truth behind the rumour is we’ve never even been approached.”

Taron is Elton's camper fan
IT appears cross-dressing is the way to win over Sir Elton John.
Rocketman actor Taron Egerton has told how he put on his girlfriend Emily Thomas’s clothes to delight his music legend friend.
The Golden Globe-contender transformed himself into a drag queen called Blodwyn Campervan – Elton’s jokey nickname for Taron – when the pair hung out at the musician’s home in France.
Taron, who played Elton in Rocketman, said: “After he went to bed, I found his Polaroid camera.
“I borrowed my girlfriend’s clothes and dressed up as what I imagined Blodwyn Camp- ervan might be and took some photos of me and my girl-friend. She drew a moustache on herself.
“So we both cross-dressed for Elton and David’s amusement and put it (the photo) in their guest book before we left.”
Explaining Elton’s choice of nickname for him, Taron, who grew up in Wales, said: “I own a camper van, which Elton loves, and Blodwyn is a derivative of the Welsh word for flower – they loved it.”
I wonder what drag name Elton would give me . . .

Liam has revealed he’s been “an animal in the gym” recently – and not even the winter chill stopped him showing off the results during his shoot.
He has been on his fitness kick for a Hugo Boss underwear campaign he released last week, even going naked in one pic.
