BBC Breakfast star Steph McGovern gives birth to a baby girl
BBC Breakfast star Steph McGovern has given birth to a baby girl, she revealed today.
The 37-year-old business presenter tweeted: "Well hello world, just surfaced to let you know that we now have a daughter!
"Born on Monday morning just as @BBCBreakfast was wrapping up. We’re all fine and dandy. Just getting used to the eau de sick/poo I am now regularly wearing. #babylife."
She is the star's first child with her television executive girlfriend, whose identity Steph has never revealed.
Her BBC co-host and Strictly star Mike Bushell was among the first to congratulate her, writing: "Wow wow. This is the most amazing news.
"Huge love and congratulations and bet she’s just gorgeous. Hope all going well and you’re getting the odd bit of sleep. Baby joy."
Dragons' Den star and Rymans boss Theo Paphitis added: "Congratulations Steph & a big welcome to your new addition!"
Steph was the main business presenter on BBC Breakfast for years, before quitting to work for Channel 4.
The star revealed she was pregnant in July, admitting that she was once sick seconds before appearing live on BBC Breakfast.
She said: "I suffered really badly with morning sickness in the early days, before anybody knew."

The baby news came after she joked about rumours she was pregnant, writing: “I am not with child — I am with pot belly.”
But she was forced to announce a U-turn to that position, saying: "I am no longer with pot belly……I am now with child. #babyonboard."
