LADY Gaga’s intimate duet with Bradley Cooper at the Oscars in February had the world wondering if their movie romance in A Star Is Born had spilled into real life.
But now Bad Romance singer Gaga, who sang the 2018 film’s hit track Shallow with Bradley, has directly addressed the rumour for the first time — and confessed the pair deliberately planned their touching show to make people think they were in love.
She revealed: “We mapped the whole thing out. It was orchestrated. We made a love story.
"For me, as a performer and actress, of course we wanted people to believe we were in love. We wanted people to feel that love at the Oscars.
"We wanted it to go right through the lens of that camera and to every television that it was being watched on. And we worked hard on it — we worked for days.”
TV host Oprah Winfrey, , also admitted she had quizzed Bradley about their relationship.
She told Gaga: “We were talking about all the rumours about you guys last year.
“He said if they had been true, he never would have been able to look you in the eye sitting at that piano.”
Gaga backed up his story, telling Oprah his version of events was “absolutely” the truth.
But her words will be hard to hear for model Irina Shayk, whose four-year relationship with Hangover actor Bradley was put under intense pressure by his closeness to Gaga.
After the Oscars, The Sun revealed how Irina had actually started feuding with Gaga the previous month, when the singer and Bradley had performed another steamy duet of Shallow, at a gig of hers in Las Vegas.
Irina unfollowed the Applause singer on social media just one day after the Oscars. She then split from Bradley, with whom she has daughter Lea, in June.
Gaga and Bradley’s Oscars act was certainly pretty apt because she was nominated for Best Actress at the bash, he was up for Best Actor and their movie won the Best Original Song prize for Shallow.
But if he was acting up just to boost his chances of an Oscar, that was pretty damned Shallow.
SHE has twice been crowned Sexiest Woman In The World but I think Scarlett Johansson will also go down in the showbiz history books for having the dodgiest tattoos.
The A-lister revealed her inkings, including a lamb on her shoulder blade, at the premiere of her Netflix film Marriage Story in Los Angeles.
Her new flick follows the tale of a woman called Nicole struggling to juggle her career, motherhood and marriage to husband Charlie, played by Adam Driver.
But with Scarlett currently planning her third real-life wedding to comedian Colin Jost, that scenario couldn’t be further from the truth.
NOEL Gallagher’s relationship with brother Liam has reached a new low as he says he’d rather have PM Boris Johnson as a sibling.
The ex-Oasis man laid into his estranged brother for threatening wife Sara MacDonald after she called him a “fat t**t” and a “tribute act”.
Noel said: “I would say Boris is more entertaining. His use of the English language is superior. Liam is better-looking, though. I probably wouldn’t get on with either of them.”
The thought of Noel having a family Christmas with the PM intrigued me so much I mocked up what Boris might look like as a Gallagher.
Speaking on a Swedish chat show, Noel revealed how Liam still wants to get their band back together.
He said: “The fact that I am cool and patient annoys him. That’s why he’s so angry.
“When he sends out a tweet I don’t know what he is going on about. He insults my wife a lot.
“I would say he would grow up one day but he is 48 now. He might do in his fifties.”
Don’t count on it.
SINGER Tallia Storm had a top guest list including Laura Whitmore, Jack Fincham and Laura Anderson for her 21st birthday last night.
She also took to the stage at East London ball-pit bar BallieBallerson to perform new song Royalty.

THIS previously unreleased George Michael song was put out yesterday, nearly three years after his death on Christmas Day 2016.
This Is How (We Want You To Get High) features in new movie Last Christmas – in cinemas later this month and inspired by George’s music.
It’s a bittersweet track – funky, uplifting pop hooks intertwined with desperately sad lyrics that give an insight into George’s mind when he recorded it in 2015.
He sings, “I was leaning on the grass, dreaming of a sunny day which never came,” and: “I will always try to get my life together.”
It’s a welcome reminder of the superstar’s amazing voice – but a long way from the magic of his greatest hits. Perhaps some things are better left as they were.
HE has had the approval of stars including Taylor Swift and John Mayer, so expect big things from up-and-comer Cautious Clay.
The US born singer-songwriter, who showcased his heady mix of R&B, rock and jazz at London’s Village Underground on Tuesday night, is preparing to release his debut album in January and will be coming back to the UK on tour.
He collaborated with John on Swim Home, which became the soundtrack for the third season of Netflix hit 13 Reasons Why, while Taylor sampled his debut track Cold War on her song London Boy earlier this year.
And as well as singing, he plays saxophone and jazz flute on stage. I’d like to see John and Taylor try that.
