Lewis Capaldi’s ex-girlfriend who inspired No1 single Someone You Loved revealed as Britain’s Got Talent hopeful
THE stunning ex-girlfriend who inspired Lewis Capaldi’s No1 smash single Someone You Loved can today be revealed as former Britain’s Got Talent contestant Paige Turley.
The pop sensation, 23, fell “head over heels” for fellow singer Paige, 22, after the pair hooked up at college in Motherwell.
He penned the heartbreaking track following their split.
A source said tonight: “Lewis was gutted. He really loved her.”
Pals have claimed channelled the heartache from his love split with Paige to become a global singing superstar.
We can reveal the Scot — who previously told how he penned his hits after a mystery ex he “loved” jilted him — dated former hopeful Paige for around a year.
Friends said the chart-topping star fancied the stunning music student “like mad” and quickly fell for her at college in Motherwell around five years ago.
He was “gutted” when they broke up — and was inspired to pen his smash debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, which includes current .
A source confirmed fellow singer Paige, who starred on the ITV talent contest aged 14, had influenced .
They said: “She’s the girl. The song and his album is clearly inspired by love and he loved her — he really did.
“Paige dated Lewis while they were both at college from around 2014 to 2016. They were on and off and together just over a year. It’s funny that his songs now mean so much to so many. But the real story behind it is boy meets girl.
“She must be thrilled she helped inspire such beautiful music.”
Another added: “Paige and Lewis were at first glance an unlikely pairing but they were passionate about singing and had a real respect for one another musically.
“They had a lot in common and Lewis fell head over heels for Paige. The two would often be seen attending events together.
“They had an on-off relationship. Paige’s friends all know the truth.”
The pair are understood to have stayed pals for around a year.
