American Horror Story: 1984 creator brands season ‘a b***h to make’ after three gruelling months of night shoots

THE creator of American Horror Story: 1984, Ryan Murphy, branded this season a "b***h to make" after it took three gruelling months of night shoots to create.

The ninth season of the popular horror anthology series follows a group of camp counsellors as they are picked off by a crazed murderer in a homage to 80s slasher flicks.

But Ryan Murphy said this season was one of the hardest to make thanks to the night shoots and the young cast.

Speaking about his favourite AHS moments to, the show creator said: "I love this season, it's been a true experiment and a B***H to make.

"Hello, three months of night shoots. Everyone has lost their minds.

"It is the youngest cast we've ever had, and a real homage to when [co-creator] Brad [Falchuk] and I were growing up in the 80s."

This season of America Horror Story is set to be the shortest series yet - as the finale date is announced.

The series is five episodes in, with the finale scheduled to air on Thursday, November 14.

This means there are only 9 episodes in this season, which is four less than previous series Asylum, Coven and Freak Show at 13 each.

Murder House and Hotel made up 12 episodes, whereas Cult had 11.

The closest is Roanoke and 2018's Apocalypse, at 10 episodes each.

It's a double-blow as fans had to deal with Sarah Paulson not making a cameo appearance in 1984.

This is the first time the 44-year-old hasn't been a part of the cast.
