Who wrote The Accident and is it a true story?
The story is written by Jack Thorne.
The Bafta winner has impressive credentials including TV series This is England, Skins, The Fades and the forthcoming BBC adaptation of Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials.
On the West End stage he had a huge hit with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
But his writing work doesn't stop there, as on the big screen, his credits include the Julia Roberts film Wonder plus The Aeronauts, in cinemas in November.
Jack has revealed that The Accident is fictional, however the real life tragedy of the 2017 Grenfell Tower fire, which killed 72 people, inspired the story.
