Zoe Ball’s Radio 2 breakfast show has lost 300,000 listeners in just 3 months
ZOE Ball’s BBC Radio 2 breakfast show lost almost 300,000 listeners in the last three months.
She had 7.9million tuning in — almost a million down on when Chris Evans, 53, was host before switching to Virgin Radio UK.
It means Zoe, 48, saw the show score its lowest listener numbers in a decade, according to audience research body Rajar.
But Britain’s Got Talent favourite Amanda Holden, 48, pulled in 4.6million weekly listeners with her national show on Heart Breakfast.
She launched it with Jamie Theakston, also 48, in June. Amanda said: “I’m so happy and proud to be part of the UK’s biggest commercial breakfast show.
“A big thank you to our wonderful listeners up and down the country for tuning in each morning and getting involved to make it so much fun.”

Meanwhile The Chris Evans Breakfast Show pulled in an additional 30,000 listeners.
Radio 1’s Greg James had just over five million, slightly up on 2018. Radio 4’s Today programme, which has just seen veteran host John Humphrys depart, lost 250,000 listeners.
Its total of 6.6million is the lowest since 2009.
